- Who are you flaming? Dan is a good contributor to the newsgroup. Thanks to Mr.
- Pop, I'm discovering that even though I have some sort of unconscious knowledge
- of the C language which enables me to get on with the business of designing
- robust programs, I don't seem to have complete knowledge of the explicit rules
- of the standard. Linguists believe that speakers do not have conscious access
- to the rules of their language which enables them to produce coherent
- sentences. Could this also be true of programmers who have been coding for a
- long time? Of course, as a programmer you have substantial explicit knowledge
- of most of the rules.
